Biography Carles Guisado Moreno
Carles Guisado Moreno began his music studies at the Escola Municipal de Musica “Can Roig i Torres” in Barcelona. Studying under Professor Àlex Garrobé, he received the highest commendation ‘Excelente’ upon graduation, as well as the award for the best graduating student, “Premio de Honor Final de Grado Medio”. This was followed by recitals in various parts of Spain and France.
In 2001, he undertook Guitar Studies at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya with Professor Zoran Dukic, and was awarded a distinction on completion. In addition, he worked as a chamber musician with the composer and guitarist Feliu Gasull and received the highest honours for his final-year concert.
In 2005-06, he attended the Hochschule für Musik Köln as an Erasmus Student for one year, in order to study under Professor Roberto Aussel.
After completion, he received a scholarship from the Catalonian government which allowed him to continue his studies in Köln.
Carles has received prizes from numerous national and international competitions, such as the Twents Gitaar Festival 2006 (Enschede, Holland), and the Concurs de Música L’Arjau (Barcelona). He has been invited to perform in various festivals, including the El Racó d’Ademuz (Valencia) and the Festival de Guitarra de Roses (Girona, Catalonia).
In order to deepen his interpretation of classical guitar music, he has attended masterclasses with David Russell, Leo Brouwer, José Miguel Moreno, Marco Socías, Hubert Käppel and Pavel Steidel.
He feels at home not only with classical music, but also with flamenco, which has accompanied him since his childhood. He also studied the art of flamenco guitar with the Brothers Rafael and Juan Manuel Cañizares at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalonia, gaining special impetus through his collabo-ration with the guitarists Pedro Javier and Antonio Zarco.
In addition, he studied Contemporary Improvisation under the pianists Agusti Fernández and Paulo Álvares, and performed concerts in various formations, for example at the Festival de Música Electro-acústica de Barcelona, the Premi Joan Ginjoan de Música Contemporània de Catalunya, and at the International Computer Music Conference.
